Excellent home for our family trip to the Seward area! A beautiful and comfortable log home. Our group enjoyed the hot tub after long days exploring this beautiful area. A well stocked kitchen, too! If we're ever back in the area, would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at Bear Paw Lodge for two weeks while catching Reds in Seward. We have been staying there for 5 years. A group of 12 guys from Hawaii. Lots of guys with lots of gear. It was great. Very roomy and very well appointed. Wendy and Dave have carefully considered and anticipated the needs of their guests and have met those needs and exceeded expectations. I look forward to staying there again soon. I would eagerly encourage others to stay at Bear Paw Lodge. Mahalo and Aloha, Tim.
Wendy was absolutely amazing. The location and the Property is a dream to stay. It’s very cozy, comfortable for large families who want to enjoy Alaska together. Each room is so elegantly done and really gives you the cabin vibes. Thanks a lot Wendy for giving us such an amazing experience.
We just finished a 4 night stay at Bear Paw lodge in Seward with our family of 9. This a great property that is tucked in the trees about 2 miles from town. The location was perfect and quiet and, better yet,every detail to make your stay comfortable was thought of. It is obvious that this cabin was a labor of love. We found lots of extras like shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, spices and condiments, paper towels, even cookies on arrival! There is lots of space for everyone to spread out. The hot tub was a perfect way to spend the evening. Often times I hesitate to rent with owners who live on-sight. However, Wendy was perfect and it was actually nice to have someone that knows the area and keeps such a good watch on everything. Having three FULL baths was a big plus for our large group. Also, the owners just finished the new laundry room and it was beautiful and perfect for our stay. This is a great rental in Seward!
Everything was just perfect! The home was a beautiful Log House. Things were ready and waiting on us. We had a very large group and there was plenty for all of us. Loved having the laundry room. Didn’t use the grill but easy access along with the recycling. Enjoyed the Hot tub. Owner was very friendly and informative. I will be telling anyone I know who travels to Seward to check out the Bear Paw Lodge!!
Our stay at Bear Paw Lodge was extraordinary. It was a true 5 star stay. The accommodations were wonderful, we had plenty of room, the amenities were great, all above what most places provided, . The home was clean and beyond what we were expecting. It was great being able to meet Wendy and sit down and share some stories with her. My only disappointment was that I wasn't able to stay longer in the lodge! Great job Wendy & Dave! If we make it back to Alaska, we would love to stay with you again! My return to Bear Paw Lodge was just as great the second time around. This beautiful cabin on a lot surrounded by trees is such a relaxing place to return to after a day of fishing at the beach nearby. The accommodations have everything you need for an Alaska vacation. The place is kept clean and cozy, and hosts Wendy and Dave are always friendly and will offer advice where the fish are coming in.
We stayed at the Lodge this past August/ 2025 while hiking around the Seward area. It was such an enjoyable stay! Rustic Log Cabin feel, but modern upgrades throughout. Great for large family gatherings or small company retreats. Wendy and her husband are great hosts! If I’m in Seward again, I’ll definitely book another reservation with them!
Bear Paw lodge was the perfect getaway for our family reunion! The house was so clean and well cared for and the decor is exactly what you’d want in Alaska! We enjoyed many dinners in the well stocked kitchen and nights soaking in the hot tub. It was the perfect location because it’s close enough to town and exit glacier but tucked away enough to be nestled on the woods. We kayaked, did a boat tour, went dog sledding and visited exit glacier. What an incredible trip with so many memories. Thanks for being such wonderful hosts Wendy and Dave! We will be back!
Our family of 8 adults absolutely LOVED staying here. Such a fantastic house. Even better than the pictures! Beds were comfy, kitchen was well-equipped. Owners are very nice and helpful. Super easy to get to town. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Seward!
